Coordinating Producer II, LA SportsCenter, ESPN
Aisha Chaney rejoined ESPN in October 2021 as Coordinating Producer II of SportsCenter from Los Angeles. She started her career at ESPN as a production assistant in 2004 and worked on a variety of shows like NFL Countdown, NFL Live, NBA Countdown and SportsCenter, and also won two Emmy Awards in the first three years of her career. Aisha was selected to be part of the original staff that launched production of SportsCenter from LA in 2009 as well as SportsNation from LA in 2013.
Prior to rejoining ESPN last October, Aisha had a strong desire to produce football so she took a leap of faith and accepted a job offer from NFL Network. She went on to spend eight years in a senior leadership role producing NFL GameDay Morning, NFL Total Access and NFL GameDay Live. Aisha was also a co-chair of the NFL LA Black Engagement Network for two years and helped create programs to grow and retain employees like Executive Office Hours and Mentor Circles, as a member of the NFL Media & Business DEI Committee.
As CP of the LA SportsCenter for the past year, Aisha has been a decisive people leader who stresses accountability, while cultivating collaboration and encouraging her staff to be their authentic selves. She genuinely cares more about the human than the output and has developed a proven track record in establishing strong relationships with her talent and staff, to successfully encourage growth and ultimately create compelling, meaningful and inclusive content. In addition to SportsCenter, Aisha also serves as a Power of Women mentor, was a part of the ESPN Mentorship Circles this year and also sits on the LA Culture and Engagement Committee. She is instrumental in providing content and updates for the monthly “LA Culture newsletter” and makes it a point to consistently amplify her staff’s work in the CONTENT CORNER section so leaders and colleagues across the company can see the great work being created on a nightly basis.
While she loves cheering for Aaron Rodgers and Russell Westbrook, Aisha spends most of her time out of the office as a single mom of her beautiful 8-year-old son, Ashton Jeremiah. She’s a proud graduate of Howard University and has a certificate from NYU for completing the NYU-NFL Sports Executive Education Program. Aisha grew up in the Bay Area, but has called Los Angeles home for 13 years.
