Global Sports Mentoring Programme, Wellington City Council
Kia ora! Hi! My name is Fran and I'm from Wellington, New Zealand. I have been fortunate enough to be selected for this year's US Department of State and ESPN Global Sports Mentoring Programme and am so excited about this conference and the programme ahead!
I work as the Health and Wellbeing Partnership Leader within the Parks, Sport and Recreation business unit at Wellington City Council. In 2015 I founded a project in Wellington called 'SHIFT: Shift your body, Shift your mind' - which aims to improve young women's wellbeing through sport and physical activity. I love running, being outdoors, my dog Ollie and making a difference in my community.
I completed a BA in Social Science in 2015 with my major research paper focusing on 'Young Women's lived experience of sport and physical activity". I am currently undertaking a MOOC through MIT in Theory U and am passionate about continuous learning.
