Carolina joined ESPN in 2006. She has recently been promoted to Senior Manager of Programming & Acquisitions for ESPN International after leading ESPN’s coverage efforts of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Latin America. In her current role, Carolina oversees Olympic Sports, Motorsports, Original Content Development and Soccer programming for ESPN’s platforms outside of the United States. She manages high-profile content acquisitions such as UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, EPL, F1 and MotoGP, among others. Prior to joining the ESPN International Programming acquisitions team in 2013, she managed the programming schedules of two ESPN television networks in Brazil. In this role, she contributed to the launch of the first HD sports network in Latin America as well as played a key part in the growth of ESPN internationally by maximizing viewership, AD Sales and ESPN’s value to affiliates in Brazil.
Carolina has also served a 2-year term as the Co-leader of ESPN Women, an ESPN Employee Resource Group whose mission is to recruit, retain, develop and inspire female employees. During this time, she was also selected as one of the five ESPN female employees to attend the 2013 WICT Rising Leaders Program.
A native of Brazil, Carolina started her career as an English language teacher in Brazil. She played team sports growing up and earned a college scholarship in Brazil playing basketball. She moved to the United States in 2004. Carolina joined ESPN after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut in 2006. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, Will, and two daughters, Maya and Luna.
