Mallika joined Major League Soccer/Soccer United in 2016 as the Senior Director of Partnership Marketing providing strategic direction and management of U.S. Soccer, Mexican National Team, CONCACAF and Major League Soccer partners.
Prior to joining MLS/SUM, Pereira provided her expertise in regards to sponsorship strategy, relationship management and contract negotiation with was with the United Tennis Association and Wasserman (Team Wass). She led several key US Open partnerships including American Express, Starwood and Esurance and was responsible for the American Express sports portfolio which included the National Basketball Association (NBA), US Tennis Association (USTA), US Golf Association (USGA), Professional Golf Association (PGA), several NBA and NHL teams.
Prior to her strategy role, Pereira was with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), where she held positions in both the marketing partnerships team and brand marketing & research team. She managed several International Olympic Committee (IOC) partners and domestic partners. While on the brand side for the USOC, Pereira developed the multi-city mobile marketing tour and Times Square kickoff event leading to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Pereira entered the sports industry in 1998 when she joined ESPN Sales and Marketing in New York. Over eleven (11) years at ESPN she managed partnerships for fully integrated multi-media programs such as the Bowl Championship Series (BCS), College GameDay (football and basketball), The ESPYS and the X Games (summer and winter).
Pereira holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from George Mason University and her interest in a sports career began with a volunteer position with World Cup 1994.
