Lina Shields
Product Brand Director, Eli Lilly and Company
Born and raised in Italy, Lina graduated from the Universita’ degli Studi di Roma Tre Summa Cum Laude; winning in 2002 as one of the top 100 Thesis for the European Union.
Shortly after graduating, Lina moved to Los Angeles where she earned her MBA at Azusa Pacific University and interned at the Motion Picture Association of America.
Lina has been working for Eli Lilly and Company for the past 11 years: she was hired as part of the Kaiser Permanente Account Team in Southern California and spent 3 years in sales. She had her heart set on moving into Marketing and was able to start her marketing career working on Cymbalta Digital marketing for HCP for both Depression and Fibromyalgia. She then moved to the Cialis DTC Team in the US Market, where she was responsible for digital and print implementation. A variety of Global roles followed, that allowed her the possibility to pilot the first HCP Global Campaign for Cialis and help establish a campaign process that was eventually replicated across business units.
In 2011, she was sent on assignment back to her native Europe, as she became the Regional Brand Leader for Cialis, responsible for Australia, Canada and Europe. During that role, Lina was responsible for ensuring the launch preparedness of 7Affiliates and restructured the way consumer marketing campaigns are designed and deployed in Europe, establishing a centralized media buying Team and process, and a structured Transcreation process that allows for local relevancies, while protecting the core campaign message.
Lina returned to the United States in 2013 to lead the Consumer Marketing efforts for Autoimmune and, more recently, for the launch of Taltz in the US Market. The new Taltz DTC Campaign has just recently made its debut on National TV, Print and online.
Lina has extensive experience in Campaign Development and implementation both in the US and globally and has delivered strong business results across regions by leading both internal and agency teams with passion and vision.
Lina has been broadly recognized as a disciplined marketer that aggressively pursues customer-centric strategies, while driving consistent business results. She has won 5 Marketing Excel Awards, including Marketer of the year in 2014. She is a recipient of the CMO Council Award for 2014.
Lina also serves as a marketing facilitator within Lilly and as guest lecturer at the Indiana University Kelly School of Business.
Lina is also part of the Lead Team of the Lilly Women Network and has been a key member of the Core Team that developed the “Women Employee Journey” a project that leverages the insight-based process that we use for our commercial model in order to better understand the tensions and key moments of truth of female leaders at Lilly and is now the foundation of Lilly’s efforts towards gender parity. Lina is also currently chairing the Communications and Engagement Committee for Lilly Women Network.

Lina is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish and proficient in French.

In her free time, Lina enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and lifting some heavy, heavy weights. On most mornings, you can find her under an Olympic bar by 5AM. She is very proud and humbled to be currently coached by IFBB legend Chris "The Real Deal" Cormier.
