Mel Healey served as the former Group President of the Procter & Gamble Company, the leading, global provider of branded consumer packaged goods. During her tenure at Procter & Gamble beginning in 1990, she held a number of positions of responsibility both in the U.S. and globally, including Group President and Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2015, Group President for North America from 2009 to 2014 (A $30 billion P&L), Group President for the Global Health & Feminine Care Sector from 2007 to 2009 and President of the Global Feminine Care Category from 2005 to 2007. Mel has deep strategic, branding, consumer marketing and operational leadership experience and skills. She has been recognized by Fortune and Forbes as one of the top most powerful women in business and by Advertising Age as one of the most influential women in Advertising.
Mel was born and raised in Brazil, lived in four different countries gaining extensive international and global experience over more than 32 years working in three multinational companies in local, regional and global leadership roles. Prior to joining P&G in Brazil in 1990, she worked at S. C. Johnson & Sons from 1983 to 1986 and Johnson & Johnson from 1987 to 1990. Over the years, she has also been very passionate about mentoring and developing emerging, female and diverse leaders. She has recently founded her own company focused on advising C-suite leaders on strategy and leadership, helping organizations build inclusive and diverse teams and talent, and coaching and mentoring top development leaders.
Mel serves on the Board of Verizon Communications, Inc., and the Board of Target Corporation. In addition, she also serves on the Board of two start up companies - UrbanSitter.com and Beckon.com and is an Advisor to two start ups – Moat and Stockpile.
Mel is a graduate of the University of Richmond in Virginia where she served as a member of their Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2013. She lives in Cincinnati with her husband and two wonderful millennial kids and she is passionate about sports, boating and playing bridge.
